I have always thought that knowledge is power, and had a passion for working with children. Being able to give children the gift of knowledge as well as supporting their emotional and physical well being on a daily basis is one of the most rewarding jobs. I chose this profession because I truly enjoy affecting children's lives by being a positive role model, and giving students the motivation and tools they need to become life long learners. Children are the future, and knowing that I am making an impact on their lives makes teaching the perfect fit for me. I believe that the focus on becoming a better teacher and leader in my classroom, school, and district will assist me in my goal of being a life long learner. In a constantly evolving profession, it is crucial to always be improving my teaching style and understand my areas of strengths and weaknesses.

I grew up in a small town in Northern Minnesota where education and strong work ethic are top priorities. The best insight I have gained in working with students that has helped me to be a better teacher is to always set high expectations for them. Providing both lower and higher level learners the opportunity to succeed, allows all of the students within my classroom to believe that they have the ability to excel. A goal I continue to strive for is to show as many students as I can that they can do anything they set their mind too.
